Privacy Policy
Effective [date of launch]
This policy explains how Code Maker Inc. ("we") collects, uses and protects personal information in Mintare. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Account: your email address, business or display name, province and GST/HST registration number.
- Your clients: names, billing emails, addresses and the residency evidence you record. When you send an invoice, we email your client on your behalf.
- Invoices and records: invoice details, payout wallet addresses, matched blockchain transactions, and the CAD ledger we calculate.
- Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and server logs (IP address, request times) for security.
Blockchain transactions are public by nature. Anyone can see transfers to a wallet address, independent of Mintare.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: sign-in, invoicing, payment matching and your records.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your account and important changes.
We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Mintare processes and stores your account data in Canada: the application runs on Vercel and the database on Supabase, both in Montréal. Public pages and static files are delivered through Vercel's global network. Other service providers process limited data on our behalf under contract: Resend sends sign-in emails (your email address) and Helius delivers blockchain payment notifications (public wallet addresses and transactions). These two may process data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities. We disclose information when required by law.
Retention
We keep your records while your account is open and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal obligations, [6 years, in line with CRA record-keeping], then delete or anonymize them.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw consent and close your account, by writing to privacy@mintare.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use encryption in transit, store only hashes of sign-in and session tokens and only the public half of passkeys, and limit access to personal information to people who need it.
